THE FAREWELL OF KOH CHANG ISLAND GHOST SHIP HOTEL
On December 3, 2024, while a worker was welding, a fire severely damaged the Ghost Ship Hotel, officially known as the Galaxy Hotel, causing significant destruction to this iconic landmark. Firefighters responded to the scene but could not contain the blaze, ultimately allowing the structure to burn as the fire proved uncontrollable.
Originally part of the Koh Chang Grand Lagoona Resort, this ship-shaped hotel ceased operations two decades ago following an economic downturn. Despite its closure, the abandoned hotel became a popular attraction for tourists intrigued by its eerie ambiance and unique architecture. This seven-story ship gained a reputation for being haunted, with local legends adding to its mystique.
