REMEMBERING THE 6th OCTOBER MASSACRE

​

The 6th October 1976 Massacre, also known as the Thammasat University Massacre, was a brutal crackdown on pro-democracy student protests and leftist activists in Thailand. It occurred during a period of political turmoil when students and activists were demanding political reforms and democracy. The military and right-wing paramilitary groups violently attacked the protesters, resulting in numerous casualties.
