REMEMBERING THE OCTOBER  6 MASSACRE

On October 6, 2023, people gathered in Bangkok to commemorate the victims of the October 6, 1976 Massacre, also known as the Thammasat University Massacre. The event marks one of the darkest chapters in Thailand’s modern political history, when pro-democracy students and activists were violently attacked during a period of intense political unrest.

The annual remembrance ceremony honors those who lost their lives and reflects ongoing discussions about democracy, accountability, and political freedom in Thailand.
