FROM REFUGEE CAMP TO TOURIST SITE
Since the late 1980s and early 1990s, members of the Karen ethnic minority have fled conflict in Myanmar and sought refuge along the Thai border. Decades later, many remain without Thai citizenship and continue to face limited access to electricity, infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
