THE LAST DAYS OF THE GHOST SHIP HOTEL
On December 3, 2024, a fire broke out during welding work at the abandoned Galaxy Hotel on Koh Chang Island. The blaze severely damaged the ship-shaped structure, marking a dramatic end to one of the island’s most recognizable landmarks.
Originally part of the Koh Chang Grand Lagoona Resort, the hotel had stood vacant for two decades following an economic downturn. Over time, the decaying building became a site of fascination, drawing visitors intrigued by its unusual architecture and reputation for being haunted.
