SONGKRAN FESTIVAL
THAILAND 2023
Held annually in mid-April, Songkran marks the beginning of the Thai New Year and is one of the country’s most significant traditional celebrations.
Beyond the well-known public water festivities, the festival is rooted in Buddhist rituals and family traditions. Many Thai people visit temples to make merit, offer food to monks, and pay respect to elders during this period of renewal.
