CHINESE NEW YEAR IN BANGKOK'S CHINATOWN

On February 10, 2024, crowds gathered along Yaowarat Road in Bangkok’s Chinatown to celebrate the Chinese New Year, one of the most vibrant annual events in Thailand. The district was filled with traditional lion and dragon dances, performances, red lanterns, and offerings symbolizing prosperity and good fortune for the year ahead.

While Chinese New Year is celebrated across Thailand, Yaowarat hosts the country’s largest and most elaborate festivities, reflecting the long-standing cultural influence of the Thai-Chinese community.
